The Centro also provides Hepatitis C testing, counseling, and referral services targeting Latinos/Latinas in Health District 3 and Health District 4.

The intent of this project is to provide free Hepatitis C testing in the Latino community to help those at risk of contracting Hepatitis C status. The project will provide up to 100 rapid technology OraSure Hepatitis C test kits for services.

immigrant rights & immigration reform

CCJ works to promote just immigration practices, particularly in communities with a high presence of Latino immigrant families. Centro provides information and conducts outreach to inform low-income immigrants regarding their rights and responsibilities with employers, schools, hospitals, law enforcement, and other local, state, and federal organizations or agencies.

In addition, CCJ is currently collaborating with other human and immigrant rights organizations in Idaho to promote comprehensive immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship.

hiv COUNSELING, testing & referral

(De Colores)

The Centro is a subgrantee of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to provide HIV testing, counseling, and referral services as well as condom distribution targeting Latinos/Latinas in Health District 3 and Health District 4.

The intent of the De Colores testing project is to provide FREE HIV testing in the Latino community to help those at risk to learn their HIV status.

cuidate (take care of yourself)

A culturally-based program to reduce HIV sexual risk behavior and unplanned pregnancy among Latino youth.

Since July 2010, CCJ has contracted with Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Division of Health to implement the Cuidate program to provide HIV Prevention & Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention services to 12-19 year-old mix-gender Latino youth in Health Districts 3,4, and 5.

This project has been successfully implemented through close collaboration and cooperative working agreements with school districts, other non-profit organizations, and youth groups in middle and high school students between the ages of 12 and 19.
